MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH

Each year, we look forward to celebrating our G180 Moms for Mother's Day in May. Our moms are working hard, juggling jobs and children in a new environment, all while working to EMPOWER themselves and their families on the road from homelessness to independent and permanent housing. Our moms are making sacrifices and challenging themselves every day to ensure they give their family the gift of a warm, safe HOME.

"The combination of grace, enthusiasm, and generosity via great food, gifts, and family photos, coupled with our new vibrant cafeteria space made for the most beautiful of events!!" - Kathy Connors, Gateway180 Executive Director

Special thank you to Aja La'Starr Owens for coordinating this incredible Mother's Day Brunch for us. Aja and her village of friends and family bring love and happiness to G180 every year to celebrate Mother's Day!

PASS THE PURSE, PLEASE

Sonja Bishop and our friends at I Can Make a Difference held another successful "Pass The Purse, Please" Empowerment Workshop at Gateway180 on June 20th. The event was an even bigger success than the previous event that was held in March! The workshop was centered around motivation, affirmations, and an introduction to affordable housing being built by non-profits for lower income individuals. Each of our clients who attended learned some valuable tips and also received a beautiful, designer purse.

MEET OUR BOARD

Meet our Gateway180 Board Treasurer, Priyal Patel!

We happily welcomed Priyal, Vice President and Treasurer at Bayer, onto our board last year in 2023. In her short-time here, Priyal has been instrumental in helping to continue Gateway180 as a financially stable 501(c)(3) charity and delivering a strong expense ratio (85.3%!).

Priyal first became introduced to Gateway180 through volunteer opportunities with New City School. "As I learned more about the organization and the community it serves, I knew I wanted to be more involved with this organization," she said.

Why is she passionate about serving on our board? Our mission! "Our mission to “empower adults to become independent and permanently housed” is critical given the increase in the number of people who are unhoused post pandemic and in a rising inflation environment. G180 looks to provide tools and support to people in need to rebuild their best selves and move towards stability and independence. I am proud to be a part of an organization with such a meaningful mission and have witnessed the difference we are making in our community."

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Christmas came early at Gateway180 this year! On June 25th, Santa himself paid a visit to G180 and brought joy, cheer and gifts for twenty-four of our families. Santa's Helpers, a 100% volunteer-run organization, helped ensure that this was a special day for all.

Gateway180's Mission:

Gateway180 is the largest Residential Emergency Shelter in the State of Missouri, serving women, children and families experiencing homelessness. We empower adults and families to become independent and permanently housed.

~~~~~~~~~~
We are proud to serve our clients and continue our mission to empower adults and families to become independent and permanently housed. But we couldn't do it without the help of all of the wonderful organizations, businesses and individuals who support G180 and open their hearts to help individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
From all of us, to all of you...
Thank You!
